Starting as I mean to go on… being in love with life and enjoying every single moment. Documenting the simplicities, moments, travels and thoughts which inspire me. Going for that long walk, waking early to watch the sunrise and forever learning more about that which excites me.
The first few weeks of 2017 have been just as I’d hoped, the seeds I’d planted in my mind were sprouting and my days are of which I’d pictured, what I spend my time journaling about. There is just this special feeling in the air, maybe it’s being close to the ocean and getting a good dose of vitamin D whilst having places to explore right on my doorstep. Whatever it is, my world seems to be filling up with all the important ingredients to live the life I truly desired.
Towards the end of last year something changed. Something good. It seemed to be the second we put my visa through that life settled and the time came to start living the life I dreamed of. We moved to our perfect beachside home (wooden floorboards was a must) after months of searching, I started an internship for a brand I adore and began working in a creative area that I truly enjoy (thank you Tree of Life) and I taught myself some very important life lessons whilst painting the picture of my perfect life.
Although 2016 seemed like such a slow year, feeling like I wasn’t living my true potential or travelling half as much as I’d like, it really was a time for shaping up for a better future… Crazy stomach pains for 10 months turned me into the healthiest of eaters along with a rather good cook and baker. Saving for visa payments allowed me to focus on being happy with less and spending smartly, whilst the time and effort spent on the visa has allowed me to stay in this country that already felt so much like home. (The fact we are now entering a new cycle reasoned with my life only too well.) I’d taken that small step back and it now felt like time for the big step forward. The many lessons I learnt last year are ones I believe I needed to start really reaping all the the benefits of this wonderful world. Now is the time for doing what I truly love, what I would do if money were no option! The goals are there to work towards and I’m really excited for what lies ahead; studying my passion of photography, travelling more, welcoming a four legged family member and finally passing my driving test. All of such simplicity which I believe will add just that little bit extra our to our lives and give us the freedom to live more!
